Fennel (common) – Foeniculum vulgare

Foeniculum vulgare includes aromatic herb fennel and Florence fennel forms. Florence fennel’s so-called bulb consists of overlapping, swollen leaf-stalk bases, not a root or a true bulb. Herb forms are valued for fine foliage and yellow flower umbels. The shared species name therefore covers different assortment subjects.
