Lathyrus latifolius is a perennial climber with winged stems and tendrils. Pea-like flowers are held in clusters above the foliage.
Botanical characteristics
It can spread through rhizomes and self-seeding, unlike an annual seed-to-seed cycle. Its perennial identity should remain clear beside annual sweet-pea references in a flower catalogue.
