| Details |
Acanthus mollis is a clump-forming perennial with large, glossy, deeply lobed leaves.
Flowers and foliage
Tall spikes rise above the basal foliage, carrying pale tubular flowers among conspicuous purple-toned bracts. Rhizomes allow established clumps to spread beyond their original position, a separate process from reproduction by seed.
Large leaves and raised flower spikes
The Acanthus mollis seed reference supplies the species without a separately named cultivar.
