Species
Helenium hoopesii
Varieties
1 entriesHelenium hoopesii, also known botanically as Hymenoxys hoopesii, is a perennial in the Asteraceae. It is offered in the seed trade for its golden-yellow flower heads and early-summer flowering, a different seasonal emphasis from autumn-flowering Helenium selections.
Botanical name and flower type
Hymenoxys hoopesii is the accepted name for the plant also listed as Helenium hoopesii. The flower heads combine surrounding ray florets with a central disc. Keeping both names in mind helps seed retailers compare this reference across perennial assortments.
The offered seed article
Helenium hoopesii is the direct seed reference in this group. For a bulk seed enquiry, use this article rather than substituting an autumn-flowering Helenium entry; the botanical names identify separate plants.
