Commune rouge (red) – Allium fistulosum

Commune Rouge is listed in the seed trade as a red-stemmed selection of Allium fistulosum with a mild onion flavour. Like other Welsh onions, it forms hollow leaves and elongated pseudostems rather than the large storage bulb of a bulb onion. The catalogue name supports the red-stem distinction, but exact shade, dimensions and seed-lot performance remain batch dependent.
