Rainbow mixture – Beta vulgaris

Beta vulgaris includes beetroot and Swiss chard. Beetroot selections are distinguished chiefly by root shape and colour; chards by leaves and the colour of their stalks and midribs. These are different vegetable forms within one species. Beetroot seed is commonly sold as corky seed clusters, which can give more than one seedling. The catalogue average is 70-100 seeds per gram, a useful reference when comparing bulk quantities.
