Seed variety
Soapwort – Saponaria officinalis
Saponaria officinalis is an upright perennial of Caryophyllaceae with clusters of pink, rose or white flowers. Saponins in the plant sap produce a lather when used in washing, explaining the soapwort name. Its perennial underground growth includes rhizomes, allowing an established plant to spread beyond the original stems.
