Salvia horminum is a familiar trade name associated with Salvia viridis. This annual is chiefly ornamental for its coloured bracts: modified leaves borne above the small flowers.
Botanical characteristics
Blue, pink and white bracts create the display. Describing them as petals would miss the botanical feature that distinguishes this sage.
Coloured bracts rather than large flowers
Blue Monday, Pink Sundae and tricolor mixed give resellers separate named and mixture references. These belong to an ornamental sage assortment, not a generic culinary-sage seed range.
