Pink Sundae – Salvia viridis

The following description concerns Salvia viridis generally. Salvia horminum is a familiar trade name associated with Salvia viridis. This annual is chiefly ornamental for its coloured bracts: modified leaves borne above the small flowers. Blue, pink and white bracts create the display. Describing them as petals would miss the botanical feature that distinguishes this sage.
