Centaurea cyanus is a cool-season annual in the Asteraceae, familiar for its blue flower heads.
Botanical characteristics
Garden selections extend the range of colours and flower forms. It favours a sunny position and well-drained soil; excessive shade can make the stems flop. Taller selections may therefore need support or a sheltered position.
Cornflower colour selections and mixtures
The seed list includes Blue Boy, Jubilee Gem and double Polka Dot mixed. For resellers, compare the full named selection with the mixture description and habit information. This keeps separate cornflower references clear within a bulk flower seed range without treating every colour or mixture as the same article.
