Jubilee Gem – Centaurea cyanus

Centaurea cyanus is a cool-season annual in the Asteraceae, familiar for its blue flower heads. Garden selections extend the range of colours and flower forms. It favours a sunny position and well-drained soil; excessive shade can make the stems flop. Taller selections may therefore need support or a sheltered position.
