Duplex – Scorzonera hispanica

Scorzonera hispanica is also known as Pseudopodospermum hispanicum. This perennial has narrow basal leaves and pale-yellow flower heads. The older Scorzonera name remains familiar in seed lists. Yellow flowers also distinguish its botanical context from white salsify, Tragopogon porrifolius, whose flower heads are purple despite its root-based common name. The catalogue average is 70 seeds per gram, a useful reference when comparing bulk quantities.
