Echinacea pallida is a tap-rooted herbaceous perennial. Long, narrow, pale pink-purple ray florets hang down around a raised reddish-brown disc.
Botanical characteristics
The cone and the rays belong to different florets within one composite head, not a single flower with an enlarged centre. This narrow, drooping outline distinguishes the species within an Echinacea seed assortment.

Pale Purple Coneflower is the named species reference for bulk flower-seed resellers.
