Anise hyssop – Agastache foeniculum

The following description concerns Agastache foeniculum generally. Agastache foeniculum is a herbaceous perennial in Lamiaceae with anise-scented foliage. Small flowers are arranged in dense whorls along upright spikes, followed by nutlets. Well-drained roots help it persist; wet soil can favour crown and root rot. Anise hyssop describes its aroma, not membership of the genera Hyssopus or Foeniculum.
