Tarragon – Artemisia dracunculus

The following description concerns Artemisia dracunculus generally. Artemisia dracunculus is an aromatic perennial in the Asteraceae with narrow leaves and small, inconspicuous flower heads. The species includes forms that differ in aroma and fertility, and seed-raised material should not automatically be equated with vegetatively propagated French tarragon. The catalogue name alone does not resolve that distinction.
