Tithonia speciosa is a synonym of Tithonia rotundifolia. This Mexican and Central American annual belongs to Asteraceae, rather than the sunflower genus Helianthus.
Botanical names and group identity
Its daisy-like heads appear on branching stems in warm weather. Sun and well-drained soil suit it; taller forms may need support.
Named Tithonia seed selections
Goldfinger, Red Torch and Yellow Torch distinguish named entries within the bulk seed list. Their full names identify the selection more precisely than “Mexican sunflower” alone.
