Tagetes tenuifolia has finely divided aromatic foliage and small flower heads, distinct in appearance from the large double heads of many bedding marigolds. Tagetes tenuifolia has finely divided foliage and single flowers.
Botanical characteristics
Sun and moist, well-drained soil suit it. Its yellow, orange and red garden palette is useful, but named selections provide more detail than the generic word marigold.
Fine foliage and small open flower heads
Lemon Gem is documented for yellow flowers and Orange Gem for bright orange flowers. Starfire mixed is a separate mixture reference for seed retailers choosing bulk assortments.
