Schizanthus × wisetonensis is a garden hybrid in Solanaceae. The finely divided foliage and irregular, two-lipped flowers explain its butterfly-flower appearance.
Botanical characteristics
Despite the common name poor man’s orchid, it does not belong to Orchidaceae. The hybrid designation is useful when organising named seed mixtures rather than treating them as one wild species.
Two butterfly-flower mixtures
Angel Wings Mixed and Dr. Badger’s Hybrids Mixed are the offered mixture references for seed resellers.
