Nigella damascena is an annual with finely divided foliage surrounding its flowers.
Botanical characteristics
Inflated seed capsules add a second ornamental stage after flowering. Removing faded flowers can extend bloom but also removes the future capsules, so the two decorative effects are linked. The species prefers cool conditions and well-drained soil.
Fine foliage, flowers and inflated capsules
For seed retailers, Jekyll double mixed and Jewels mixed are distinct listed mixtures. Preserve the group name when comparing the bulk range; similar colour labels occur in more than one group.
