Kochia trichophylla is associated with ornamental forms of Bassia scoparia, an annual in Amaranthaceae.

Flowers and foliage

Fine green foliage can turn red in autumn, while the flowers remain inconspicuous. The cypress-like outline comes from the leaf texture and branching, not from a woody conifer habit. Plants can also spread readily by seed.

Burning Bush is the named foliage reference for the reseller’s annual seed assortment.
