Iberis umbellata is an annual in the Brassicaceae, distinct from evergreen perennial candytufts.

Botanical characteristics

Its rounded flower clusters contain four-petalled flowers, with the outer petals enlarged. White, pink and purple shades occur in garden selections. Sun and well-drained soil support flowering, while excessive watering is unsuitable.

Rounded flower clusters and annual habit

Dwarf Fairy mixed, Purple Flash and White Flash give retailers mixture and named colour references. The annual species identity should remain with these entries in a wholesale seed assortment.
