Red Spike – Amaranthus cruentus

Amaranthus cruentus is an upright, frost-sensitive annual. Its oval leaves and clusters of tiny flowers in erect or arching spikes give the ornamental selections a different silhouette from many daisy-flowered annuals. A sunny, sheltered position suits the species. The catalogue here groups named flower seed references under this botanical name. The catalogue average is 1500 seeds per gram, a useful reference when comparing bulk quantities.
