Gladiator F1 – Pastinaca sativa

Pastinaca sativa is a biennial: a leafy rosette and storage root develop before the later flowering stem. Garden parsnip references are selected for the first-year root. Root length and shape matter where soil is shallow or stony, while fresh seed is important because older parsnip seed loses reliability. The catalogue average is 240 seeds per gram, a useful reference when comparing bulk quantities.
