Glasswort – Salicornia europaea

Salicornia europaea is an annual Amaranthaceae native to northern and western Europe. Glasswort and samphire are common names used around the seed trade, but they do not identify every plant sold under a coastal-herb label. Salicornia is botanically separate from the Salsola saltwort catalogue entries.
