Seed variety
Stinging nettle – Urtica dioica
Urtica dioica is a perennial with opposite, toothed leaves and stinging hairs on leaves and stems. Underground rhizomes allow established plants to form colonies as well as reproduce by seed. The species favours rich, moist ground and tolerates drought poorly, unlike many dry-ground aromatic herbs.
