German Chamomile – Matricaria chamomilla

Matricaria chamomilla is an annual Asteraceae with finely divided, thread-like leaf segments. The scented flower heads have white ray florets around a yellow centre of tubular florets. Their hollow receptacle is an identifying feature. Matricaria recutita is a synonym, not a second botanical species.
