Mandarina – Melissa officinalis

Melissa officinalis is a herbaceous perennial with opposite, crinkled leaves that release a lemon scent when bruised. Small pale flowers appear later above the leafy growth. Both rhizomes and self-seeding can extend its presence, so returning plants may arise from two different mechanisms rather than from one expanding clump alone. Mandarina is the catalogue designation for this seed entry.
