Mexican mint – Tagetes lucida

Tagetes lucida belongs to Asteraceae, not to the mint family despite the Mexican mint common name. Yellow composite flower heads accompany its aromatic foliage. It persists as a perennial in warm conditions but is often treated as an annual where winters are cold. Sun and well-drained soil suit this herbaceous marigold relative.
