Salvia farinacea – Blue Bedder

The following description concerns Salvia farinacea generally. Salvia farinacea is a tender perennial often grown as an annual. Its name refers to the pale, powdery hairs on the calyces and upper stems. Upright spikes carry small flowers in blue to violet shades, with white selections also available. This ornamental sage differs from the broad red-flowered display familiar in Salvia splendens.
