rose-red shades – Dianthus gratianopolitanus

Dianthus gratianopolitanus forms a low perennial mat with fragrant flowers held above the foliage. The separation between dense leafy growth and short flower stems gives it a different outline from taller border pinks. Sun and drainage are important: winter wetness can damage the crown even where the plant tolerates brief dry periods.
