Legion of Honour – Dianthus caryophyllus

Dianthus caryophyllus is a herbaceous perennial with numerous garden forms. Its flowers vary in colour and size across cultivars, while cool conditions and well-drained soil suit the species. Removing faded flowers can prolong the display. Flower form, plant habit and series identity are separate points to compare when selecting carnation seed.
