red – Asclepias curassavica

Asclepias curassavica is a tender perennial often treated as an annual. Upright stems bear clusters of orange-red flowers, and damaged tissues release milky sap. Its warm-climate persistence differs from that of hardy temperate milkweeds. The plant is toxic if ingested.
