Mountaingold – Alyssum montanum

Alyssum montanum L. is a temperate subshrub in Brassicaceae. Its woody base gives it a persistent framework, unlike an annual flower. The Alyssum genus bears small flowers in racemes and typically flattened fruits: the flowering and fruiting stages therefore have different outlines. Mountain Gold catalogue entries retain their horticultural selection identity within this botanical context.
