double scarlet – Alcea rosea

Alcea rosea belongs to the Malvaceae. Broad, rounded leaves sit below tall, upright stems carrying large flowers. Named cultivars and mixtures vary in colour and flower form. The foliage is susceptible to rust, which is a separate consideration from flower colour when describing a hollyhock seed range.
