Blaze of Fire – Salvia splendens

The following description concerns Salvia splendens generally. Salvia splendens is a tender perennial commonly treated as an annual. Its upright flower clusters carry tubular corollas and coloured calyces, both contributing to the display. Red is familiar, but garden selections include other colours. This ornamental sage belongs to the Lamiaceae and should be distinguished from culinary sage in a seed assortment.
