Lathyrus odoratus is an annual ornamental sweet pea in the Fabaceae. Its paired leaflets, winged stems and tendrils accompany fragrant, pea-shaped flowers. Climbing forms need support, while bushy forms also occur. Sweet pea seeds and pods are poisonous and must not be confused with edible peas.
