Speckled Swan – Lagenaria siceraria

Lagenaria siceraria is an annual cucurbit climber with large white flowers that open at night. Mature fruits develop hard shells that can be dried for decorative objects or vessels. This shell formation distinguishes mature ornamental use from the soft young fruit stage; bottle gourds are not simply miniature pumpkins.
