Gaiety single mixed – Dianthus heddewigii

Heddewigii is a horticultural name used for China pink selections, rather than a separate species here. Dianthus chinensis has narrow leaves and flowers with fringed petal edges. Usually treated as an annual, it is botanically biennial or a short-lived perennial; poorly drained soil increases the risk of crown rot.
