mixed – Cuphea ignea

Cuphea ignea is a tender evergreen subshrub with small narrow leaves and tubular, reddish-orange flowers. The dark-tipped tubes explain the cigar-flower common name. It remains perennial without frost, but is often treated as a seasonal plant in cooler climates. Moisture supports growth, while drainage prevents prolonged wetness around the roots.
