Seed variety
rosy lilac – Plectocephalus americanus
Centaurea americana is an older name for Plectocephalus americanus. Its broad flower heads have fringed involucral bracts, producing the basket-like outline behind the common name. Enlarged outer florets surround the central flowers. This head structure distinguishes it from simply describing the plant as another purple daisy.
